The Southern Oregon Book and Author Fair, taking place on Saturday, November 21, 2009, in the Ashland Springs Hotel’s 2nd Floor Ballroom and Conservatory:
The Ashland Springs Hotel (ASH) is located at 212 East Main Street, Ashland, OR 97520, just steps from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the heart of downtown Ashland. Convenient book fair day parking ($3.00 for the entire day and evening) for authors is in the public parking lot located on Hargadine, kitty-corner to the rear of the ASH parking lot. Once parked in the public lot, authors can walk down the alley and enter the book fair rooms through the alley’s garden door which organizers will have marked.
(However, if you are driving in on Friday and staying as a hotel guest that evening, there is a different, free hotel guest parking lot.)
Driving from the North towards Ashland on I-5
Take Exit 19, turn right and continue to first light. Turn left onto Highway 99 which turns into N. Main Street. Continue approximately two miles to downtown. The hotel is on the corner of First Street and East Main Street. For the public parking lot, turn right onto First, go up the hill, and turn right onto Hargadine. The public parking lot is on the right, half-a-block down. It is three stories (street level and also an alley down to two lower areas.)
Driving from the South toward Ashland on I-5
Take Exit 11 onto Highway 99 which, at a light, turns right into Siskiyou Blvd., which later turns into Lithia Way. (It’s approximately five miles total to downtown.) Turn left on First Street. The hotel is on the corner of First Street and East Main Street. For the public parking lot, continue up First Street past the hotel, and turn right onto Hargadine. The public parking lot is on the right, half-a-block down. It is three stories (street level and also an alley leading down to two lower areas.)
