The Ashland Springs Hotel (ASH) has blockd out Queen rooms for Southern Oregon Book & Author Fair participants on 11/19/2010 (Friday) and
11/20/2010 (Saturday) for $89 per night (does not include 10% occupancy tax). You don’t have to book both nights! The room fee includes: light breakfast, wireless internet service, discount to Larks Restaurant, discount to Waterstone Spa and Salon, hotel parking, business room access and fitness room access. For reservations call (541) 488-1700 and remember to mention the group block for “Book and Author Fair 2010″ and the booking code #800840. Check in is 3 pm and checkout is 11 am — cancel at least 72 hours ahead of time if you need to. The discount offer expires on October 22, 2010.
Friday evening parking in the ASH lot is included for registered guests, but if you’re not staying Saturday night you will have to move your car to the public parking lot Friday morning after you check out.
The hotel is just steps from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the heart of downtown Ashland, Oregon. Within walking distance of the hotel, guests may enjoy Lithia Park, Oregon Cabaret Theatre, galleries, restaurants, and boutique shopping.

The AHS will also be providing the same author lunch ordering/delivery system during the 2010 Southern Oregon Book & Author Fair as at the 2009 fair (lunch is not included in your registration). This worked well in 2009 and authors were happy with their meals. Please note that external food/drink (including water and candy at the tables) is not allowed into the hotel for an event, whether from home or from another restaurant.
For those not familiar with this service, the ASH will provide coffee (regular and decaf) and water for Authors in The Palm Room (adjacent to the Conservatory and Ballroom). Also, a “short menu” will be distributed to authors on the tables in the morning. Authors interested in eating in the hotel during the fair can order their meal from the menu and pay for it. The hotel staff will pick up the orders (starting at approximately 11:3o a.m.) and deliver the food to the tables. Authors are entirely responsible for their food and beverage payments. All meal tabs include an 18% tip plus 5% city tax. No alcohol allowed.
If you do not want to eat from the hotel provided menu, you have the option of leaving your table and eating outside the hotel, but no external food, either from home or a restaurant, will be allowed into the hotel for our group. Ignoring this rule, or any other, will result in your being asked to leave, and no fair refund will be provided.
