Author Lorena McCourtney of Grants Pass, Oregon will be the “Featured Author” at the 2009 Southern Oregon Book & Author Fair.
McCourtney is the author of 39 books. Her career started in secular romance, moved to Christian Romance, and most recently to her present highly awarded Christian Mystery niche. McCourtney and more than 50 other authors local and regional authors will be on-hand selling and autographing their books at the Southern Oregon Book & Author Fair, November 21 at the Ashland Springs Hotel in Ashland, Oregon.
McCourtney’s Recent Books and Awards
McCourtney has a total of 39 books to her long career credit. She wrote 24 romance novels before concentrating on Christian Romance Fiction and then her four-book Christian mystery series featuring sleuth Ivy Malone. She has begun a new Andi McConnel series also.

McCourtney’s previously published books include The Blue Moon, published through Guideposts. A newer edition is available through bookstores. Other books by McCourtney are out of print but may be found through specialized resources
McCourtney has also been a two-time finalist for the RITA Award from the Romance Writer’s Association, as well as being named finalist or second place winner in several other writers contests.
According to the author in an interview with Focus on Fiction, “My fiction writing began with juvenile short stories for the take-home Sunday school papers, and I had some 250 of these published. I then expanded into short stories for secular women’s publications and eventually into mass-market romance books, all the time promising the Lord that I would eventually get back into Christian writing…After 24 romances, God basically grabbed me by the nape of the neck with the message the time is now.”
